New Order Remastered Collectors Editions

In 2008 New Order released 'deluxe' 2-disc "Collector's Edition" 'remastered' reissues of Movement, Power Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, and Technique. These were released in the UK on Rhino on 29 September 2008 and in the US on 11 November 2008. The second disc of each reissue contains rare and previously unreleased B-sides, remixes, and extended and alternate versions of tracks.

This is the first CD release for many (if not most of the) full unedited 12" versions including the infamous John Robie-mixed 12" of 'Sub-Culture'.

Despite reassurances to the contrary, the Collector's Edition series was plagued by audio glitches and problems with tracks being wrongly listed. A full checklist of problems thus far discovered may be found at neworderonline.com.

Rhino subsequently made the following statement:

"Warner Bros. UK, Rhino and New Order regret that the initial pressings of the Collector Editions of Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood and Technique contain some minor audio problems on the bonus discs. We are now in the process of correcting the problems, but it should be noted that due to the age and condition of some of the original source tapes, the sound quality may vary. A further statement will be issued once the corrected product is available. At that time, the procedure for exchanging CD's will be announced. Thank you for your patience while we resolve this situation."
